Wow, I suck at Stuff Portrait Friday.

A charcoal drawn for me from a girl I used to date . Tulips in the wind. I adore it still. Posted by Picasa

Into the living room from the front door. kinda dark.. Tag still on the furniture.. I am a dork. It is really soft though. Microfiber ROCKS! Posted by Picasa

I know, not very exciting. Just keys. Car key, my Aunt Sharon's house key and my friend Heathers house key. I don't even have one for my own house! Posted by Picasa

Stuff Portrait Friday

Okay, so a site that I love to read does this "homework assignment" called Stuff Portrait Friday. Every Thursday night, she gives out 3 things you have to take photos of and post to your blog. This weeks "SPF" is

1. A picture of your keys
2. A photo from your front door (in or out)
3. A photo of something from a past relationship

So, here is my 1st week participating ... oh, and the site that I do this for is..
http://www.randomandodd.blogspot.com/ it is very cool. You should totally check it out. She takes amazing photos. If you post SPF on your blog let me know so I can see it too! (and direct everyone else to you also!)

Weekly epiphany, hopefully.

Websters defines LOVE as ; A deep tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person ; a feeling of intense desire and attraction ; intense emotional attachment.

I am not sure if Noah Webster or Charles Merriam were ever in love but wow, it must have been.. just.. well.. .. mediocre. Do you ever sit across from your love and think *sigh* I have tender, ineffable feelings for you. ???? God, I truly hope not.

I have been having a wierd few weeks. Summers are bad for me and I have been sketchy lately so this was welcome. I was having dinner with Joe yesterday and I had an epiphany. (unbeknownst to him, I am sure) He had just gotten home from work so he was still in his button up and his hair was done and I thought to myself , "God, I love this man so much. He is so handsome and sweet and funny. He makes me feel SO amazing." I have no words for my emotions, only that I .. well that's it.. no words. What on earth did I do to deserve someone like that?

It's funny. I have stronger feelings for Joe now, than I did when we were dating and in the magical first six months stage. You know, the one where you can't keep your eyes (hands) off each other and you stay up on the phone all night together talking about nothing and everything?

When I was younger (I know I am not old) I can remember thinking that love was a certain way. It was rose petals and champagne and effortless. Everything was always perfect and you got married and were full of passion 24 hours a day and had your 2.5 kids and your matching labradors.

I had no idea that actually loving and being in a marriage was so full of work. Everyday. Ya know what? I love the work. I don't mind that he doesn't put the toilet paper on the roll. I am okay with the kitchen being wrecked after he has cooked in it. I don't even mind that he is terrible with money and spends a lot that he shouldn't. Here is why.. because I love seeing him sleeping at 3 am all bundled under 2 blankets and stuffed into six pillows. I love the way he smells.. not cologne.. the way he smells. I love the way he looks at me with eyes that are like a child seeing me for the first time. I love the way that he has no problem apologizing when he is wrong and that I don't mind it either. I have learned that pride has no place in love. And I learned it from Joe.

Last of the obligatory animal pics..I promise.

Okay so I had the boys on the blog yesterday so I was feeling guilty about leaving Karma out of the mix. She is after all the princess. I have had her longer than my husband, and he is convinced I would kick him out before her. To be honest, I would really have to think about it. She does have seniority and she never cares if I squeeze the toothpaste from the middle or the end. Hmmmm... well he does have his uses too. Nothing I intend to publish on the blog but, eh.. you get the idea.

I think she has had just about enough of the camera. Posted by Hello

My sons (sort of)

I haven't really had a lot to post about recently so I am afraid you are all being subjected to badly taken photos. These are my sweet labs. Max is 9 and Sammy is 3. Max is very calm and just kind of a yellow doormat that snores. Sammy is a whole different story. If I had 1/8th the energy that dog has I would be a rich, rich woman. The only problem is you can practically see the cobwebs in his head. Let's just say he is not the brightest light in the harbor. He has an OCD I swear. No matter what I say to him, in dog apparently it translates to , "go get the rope toy." Max has nowhere near that kind of interest in anything except laying in the kiddie pool in the back yard and snacking. Come to think of it.. he may be the dog version of myself.

Harriet in all her glory Posted by Hello

Harriet The Spy-der

Initially I admit it, I wanted nothing more than a large can of raid or a Sunday newspaper to deal with this new househole resident. And although I can't imagine she and I will be cuddling up anytime soon, I no longer wish her bodily harm. I had a few requests for a pictoral of the little lady so, without further ado, here she is...

Regret?

Regret:
1. A sense of loss and longing for someone or something gone.
2. A feeling of disappointment or distress about something that one wishes could be different.

Charlotte's post about taking things back has made me think. (I know, uh-oh) Why would you take things back if you had that power? Don't your actions and decisions make you who you are? If things could be done and then just undone, responsibility would just go out the window and life would mean a lot less. People are going downhill as it is but I shudder to think the downward spiral that would cause. You only get one shot to try and do things right. I like to think (hope) that is what drives people to be better human beings. KNOWING that they only get one chance to be a good parent or spouse or friend. I have made a lot of mistakes in life. We all have I am sure. I don't regret them. I won't say my mind doesn't occasionally wander into the land of "what if" but I have a wonderful life. I have a beautiful home, nice dogs, a sweet cat and most important, someone who loves me and sees in me something I don't think anyone else does. He can look at me and I feel so cherished. It is like I can't breathe without him. And I don't want to either. Is that unhealthy? I don't know. I never thought anyone would give me as much as I give them. It is amazing and I truly wish it for all of you who read this.

I wonder if he would take things back if he could.
